Third Day of Filming!
Filming: Day 3
March 19, 2022
Process and Experience:
So I have finally filmed the rest of the opening sequence and now that I have gathered all the clips, the editing process has been smooth and done with ease. The last day of filming was shot on a Saturday afternoon on the 19th in a semi open space (in a park). I brought along my props and flowers and dressed in a bright orange dress to fully embody the ideal goal of this scene. The day was extremely hot but we pushed through and were able to grab the images I had originally envisioned for this scene. My brother and I began by spreading out a white flat sheet and he started record me throwing flowers all across the sheet in the slow motion effect on my camera. We set up the camera in different angles so that during editing it will offer me flexibility with the flow in how I would like to tell the story. Overall, the film day went by pretty smoothly, it was awkward at times to film in public while people walk by wondering what were doing recording myself on a white blanket with a bunch of flowers. I especially liked the outcome of the clips collected because the diegetic/ambient sound of birds chirping can be heard in the original clips, this was totally unplanned but it works extremely well with the narrative I am trying to portray.
Some of the clips I collected:
- Close up - of flowers thrown on the grass/blanket
- Overhead shot - main character lying down on the white sheet
- Overhead shot - just the plain white sheet by itself
- Tracking shot - character walking slowly holding flowers
- Slow motion effects
