Color Use: Opening Sequence
Use of Color
Relation to Color Theory & Symbolism:
The first half of my opening sequence is a lot more saturated than the second half. This is done deliberately so that I can accurately capture the vast colors of the scene. The dress I wear is a bright orange with little white flowers sprinkled across it. I also incorporate several different flowers once again to bring energy, light, and a calmness to the scene. Orange, purple, pink, green, and white all make an appearance for the sole purpose to evoke a certain mood of nature, beauty, and freedom. It is meant to convey a sense of ease and simplicity.
The second half incorporates a mix of dark and light elements, in a more realistic setting, the drug store. This scene was shot at night and inside a local drug store. There are prominent bright colors shown on the front of pill bottles and boxes. This is a bit of symbolism as the character is so drawn to the use of drugs everything else around her seems dull.
