Video Effects:
Since I plan on doing reshoots of the scene listed above, I haven't incorporated many video effects. Most of the effects I plan on saving for the opening scene of the film (I have not yet filmed this portion of my opening sequence). The editing I have done so far was so that I have an idea of the shot placements I would like to see, placing clips in order based on flow and in a way the audience is able to understand the story. I have color graded all of the shots in the second scene by using a pre-set filter provided by the IMOVIE, which I am editing on. I have shortened clips and split them on certain parts that needed to convey a sense of urgency, since the character needs to refill on her drug supply. Overall, no major effects have been applied yet.
Video Transitions:
As I have stated before most of the fancy effects and transitions will be performed in the scene that I have not yet filmed. So far the transitions incorporated are the standard cuts. I am also going to add in a fade from black in the beginning of the second scene (the corner store clips).
Problem Areas of Editing & Solutions:
My major problem areas with editing, is the ability to make a seamless transition. I think I am hindered by this because of sound, since the clips aren't taken in the same shot and I am not working in a studio, as I piece together shots, the fluidity is disrupted by the displacements of sound in each shot. To resolve this issue I might have to use some kind of soundscape or try to reshoot the scene with ambient sound in mind.
