Costuming
My Film's Wardrobe
Costume Details:
There will be a total of two major scenes in my opening sequence and since there is only one character, two outfit changes will be included. In the opening scene my character will be dressed in a short bright yellow-orangish dress that has mini sunflowers decorated on it. I have chosen this dress, as discussed before in the previous blog, to emphasize a feeling of light, airiness, and energy. This dress will meet above the character's knees with an addition of slightly puffed shoulder sleeves. Selecting this outfit piece will present the audience with a sense of the character's feelings, the bright color and the spring vibes all aid in the objective of telling a side of a story that is euphoric or dreamy. A small gold pendent will be added to this ensemble.
The second outfit change will include a casual, "streetwear" aesthetic. The ideal goal is to wear something dark and realistic. In this second scene I will be dressed in most likely an ashy sage green oversized hoodie with blue baggy jeans. The sneakers that will be worn are checkered cream and black Vans. This outfit is pretty much simple and achievable, the goal is just to show a darker world that is more of reality so it has to contrast greatly from the orange dress in the previous scene. This is where the audience will see the character's distress and urgency when it comes to doing drugs.
